SWINE FLU.... The media has taken this and ran with it. So when the girls got sick last week, I have to admit that I was a bit curious as to just how bad it could be. Well 1st let me say, they got sick SO quick. It was actually within about a 4-8 hour period. Woke up with a little sore throat and felt that their asthma was starting up. Decided to lay back down for a bit, and woke up running fevers. And these fevers were crazy. High fevers 103-104 that would not really respond to anything. Really just had to make them as comfortable as possible and let it run its coarse. We did see the doctor, who did run the test to only confirm my gut feeling. Swine Flu, H1N1, Influenza A whatever name you want to call it. So now we are 10 days from the onset and fever free. But still headaches with some really nasty coughing. So we all have a few more immunities built up and this too shall pass.
On a lighter note. Here are some messenger bags that I made this summer. My
friend inspired me to make a couple of messenger bags for my girls after seeing the ones she had made. (
here and
here are two more) The girls had fun picking their material out and finding just the "perfect" little slide that goes on the handle. The bags came in VERY handy while traveling especially with all the pockets.
Anywho, here is what they ended up looking like. And here is the
tutorial for how to make your own if you are so inclined.
